Resumes and Cover Letters workshop: If you're looking for a job or internship, you must prepare by creating a strong resume and cover letter. This workshop provides an introduction to both, with emphasis on resumes. You'll learn about resume key words, formatting, and how to make these documents effective. To interview successfully, you must prepare in advance! This workshop provides basic tips to help you succeed in your interview. It's a website that helps you network, find jobs and internships, and stay in contact with colleagues and professionals. Come learn the basics of LinkedIn, how to get started, and how to use it to your advantage! This workshop will be offered again in Fall 2013. Personal Statements workshop: This short workshop introduces you to some strategies for writing a personal statement. Most graduate programs require you to write a personal statement and include it with your application materials. Don't underestimate the importance of writing a good one. Learn how to make it effective, and what pitfalls to avoid. This workshop will be offered again in Fall 2013. Job Fair Preparation: Learn what the U of M Job and Internship Fair is, how to prepare, how to dress for it, and how to impress the employers there. If you prepare in advance for a job fair, you're more likely to find a job or internship through it. We'll discuss application materials and deadlines, and how to prepare your application materials so that you're the best law school applicant you can be. This workshop is open to all U of M students.
