Resumes and Cover Letters workshop:
If you're looking for a job or internship, you must prepare by creating a strong resume and cover letter. This workshop provides an introduction to both, with emphasis on resumes. You'll learn about resume key words, formatting, and how to make these documents effective. NOTE: This workshop is geared toward CLA students.

Effective Interviewing:
Are you preparing to interview for a job or internship? To interview successfully, you must prepare in advance! This workshop provides basic tips to help you succeed in your interview. You'll learn how to present yourself well, typical interview questions and how to answer, what questions to ask, what to wear, and much more.
NOTE: This workshop is geared toward CLA students.

Did you know that most jobs and internships are NOT found through the internet? Many students don't know the best ways to search for a position. This free workshop will introduce you to job-search techniques and secrets. NOTE: This workshop is geared toward CLA students.

LinkedIn: The Basics
Have you heard about LinkedIn? It's a website that helps you network, find jobs and internships, and stay in contact with colleagues and professionals. Come learn the basics of LinkedIn, how to get started, and how to use it to your advantage!

This workshop will be offered again in Fall 2013.



Personal Statements workshop:
This short workshop introduces you to some strategies for writing a personal statement. Most graduate programs require you to write a personal statement and include it with your application materials. Don't underestimate the importance of writing a good one. Learn how to make it effective, and what pitfalls to avoid.

This workshop will be offered again in Fall 2013.



Job Fair Preparation:
Learn what the U of M Job and Internship Fair is, how to prepare, how to dress for it, and how to impress the employers there. If you prepare in advance for a job fair, you're more likely to find a job or internship through it.

Should I Go to Law School?
Are you thinking about going to law school? This workshop is for any U of M student considering it. We'll talk about the skills you need, and how to decide if law school's a good fit for you. We'll also provide basic tips about getting into law school, and what you can do to prepare.

Applying to Law School
This free workshop is for students who know they're going to law school and would like guidance about the application process. We'll discuss application materials and deadlines, and how to prepare your application materials so that you're the best law school applicant you can be. This workshop is open to all U of M students.
