University Relations

We offer many services to CLA students:

CLA Career Services is committed to helping students maximize their academic and career exploration opportunities while at the University of Minnesota. We help students:
  • Choose a major and explore career paths so that they can succeed at the university, and graduate in a four-year timeline.
  • Teach students about current career and job market trends, and how to successfully search and apply for jobs.
  • Understand the value of a liberal arts degree by exploring the many career paths open to CLA students.
  • Find internships and volunteer experiences that integrate with their academic learning.
  • Prepare and apply for graduate or professional school.
  • Make use of faculty expertise and research opportunities in various fields of study.
We also believe that students who get involved with programs and activities beyond the classroom are more likely to find career success. This includes internships, volunteer positions, off-campus study programs, student groups, and extra-curricular activities.
