CLA Mentoring Opportunities

CLA Career Services and the CLA Alumni Society coordinate mentoring opportunities. Below are some of the ways CLA students and alumni can connect:

THE CLA STUDENT/ALUMNI GROUP ON LINKEDIN: This is a convenient, fun way for CLA students and alumni to network with each other. Students can explore career options and make professional connections. Alumni can engage with students and share their wisdom.

COMPANY SITE VISITS: These visits give students a chance to see an organization up close, and learn about the types of jobs they have for liberal arts majors. Students meet managers and CLA alumni. When these events are scheduled, information is posted on our Events page. (ALUMNI: If you'd like to set up a site visit at your organization, please use the contact information below.)

U OF M ALUMNI ASSOCIATION ON LINKEDIN: LinkedIn is a professional networking site. Join LinkedIn and then join its U of M Alumni Association group to connect with alumni. This can be a valuable tool for career exploration and job searching.

MENTOR CONNECTION EVENTS: These events give U of M alumni and students a chance to network with each other. They're offered throughout the year by the U of M Alumni Association's Mentor Connection. See their events page here.

NOTE: The College of Liberal Arts has evolved the types of mentoring opportunities available. The CLA Mentor Program is discontinued, while other types of student-alumni connections are growing and being developed. We encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities listed above.
