Walk-In Hours with Minnesota Reading/Math Corps
Tuesday, February 15, 2011
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
411 Science Teaching and Student Services Building
Get a kick start on your career while making a difference as either a Minnesota Reading Corps or Math Corps tutor. Every year, these two AmeriCorps programs place and train hundreds of tutors in preschools through junior high schools across Minnesota. As one of these tutors, you'll use research-based instructional methods to help students become successful readers by 3rd grade, or become algebra-ready by 8th grade.
Positions for the 2011–2012 school year begin in August 2011. During your 11-month service, you'll receive extensive training, support, and professional development opportunities. You'll receive a modest living stipend, an education award of up to $5350, and other benefits if eligible.
Interested? Visit CLA Career Services anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on February 15. You can talk to a MN Reading/Math Corps recruiter (Anna) to get more information, or to get answers to any questions.
All U of M students are welcome to stop by during these walk-in hours. Students interested in youth, service or education are excellent candidates.
