On-Campus Recruiting Info for Employers
CLA Career Services coordinates on-campus recruiting events for College of Liberal Arts (CLA) students during fall and spring semesters. Employers have multiple options for recruiting CLA candidates on campus. Below are some of your options. If there are other ways you'd like to recruit CLA students, please contact us with your ideas.
- On-Campus Interviews: Employers can request on-campus interview space for full-time positions that require a bachelor's degree, or for internships that require students to be working toward a liberal arts degree.
We encourage employers to submit on-campus interview requests early, because space on campus fills quickly.
To request an on-campus interview date, create an account in GoldPASS and submit the "Schedule Request" form through the on-campus interview tab.
NOTE: Before requesting a date, review the University of Minnesota's academic calendar (choose Twin Cities and the year) to avoid selecting a date during student breaks. After you've conducted on-campus interviews, please report your hiring results to CLA Employer Relations.
- Information Sessions: Info Sessions are a way for you to provide students with an overview of your organization, and information about the jobs or internships you have available. If you'd like to host an Info Session for CLA students, we can help promote the event to students. We recommend you reserve space through Coffman Union for your Info Session. Contact us to discuss promotion options for your Info Session.
- Walk-in Hours: Spend time in the CLA Career Services office talking with students about jobs or internships available in your organization. This is also a good time to provide resume advice, and answer students' questions. We'll advertise your visit and encourage students to stop by. Contact us to set this up.
- Recruiting Tables: Reserve a table in Coffman Union to promote your opportunities to students. Coffman Union is the centralized student union where you can meet students from all U of M colleges. To reserve a table, contact Coffman Union directly. After you do, notify us and we'll help promote your visit to CLA students.
In addition to on-campus recruiting, you can connect with CLA students through the many volunteer opportunities we coordinate in CLA Career Services.
